Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity. Until I get there, focus on reading the Scriptures to the church, encouraging the believers, and teaching them. 1 Timothy 4:12-13 NLT

Good 2 GO

'Good 2 Go' CD's are coming out this week and next! (more info when you get them)
Make sure to tell me which of the four focuses listed below you are interested in/want to focus on personally for the next few weeks.
You DON'T have to be in the Tigard area to do this with us- there are options to participate from, say, Washington or Texas also... just sayin' ;-)
Here they are with focus area titles:
~ ONLINE~
*creating Christspace
*Yourface on social networks
~ SCHOOL~
*reflections - your image or Christ's?
*purpose and focus, (Spiritual giftedness and your purpose where you are)
*Friends and God, (those awkward conversations)
~INTERNATIONAL~
*Need and relief, (lasting impressions vs. when helping hurts)
*Brutha's and sista's... of the same Father, (Cross-cultural faith conversation)
*Sex trafficking and slavery
~LOCAL~
*Sustainability
*Need vs. face of the community, (What does your community seem like on the outside, what are the real NEEDS there?)
*Hangout hangups, (What's your personality in your community and friend group, does it reflect Christ?)
Please choose one ASAP!
As I said it doesn't matter if you live far away, and feel free to partner up with a friend- there's a project involved with each subject =D

Christmas!
Hey all :-)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkHNNPM7pJA
Think about it. Times haven't changed that much... except that the shepherds would hear about Jesus' birth through a tagged tweet or Tumblr link ;-)
On average, a baby is born every 3 seconds.... what made this one so special? Why do we still talk about him?
It wasn't his noble birth, (son of a carpenter,)
or his military might, (peaceful teacher,)
or his riches, (lived on the road with his followers,)
... but the healing and love he brought when he came to be in relationship with his people =)
Merry Christmas!
Blessings,Katie
PS: holiday schedule is Christmas Eve service next Friday from 6:30-8, a cookie-baking and carroling party TBA, and the New Year's all-nighter. Hope your break is going well! Feel free to chat or text me anytime if you need something - called2shepherd2@gmail.com
