The Foundry Youth Summer Internship Application

“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12

Desirable skills and qualities in an intern or student leader:

-          Willingness to seek God’s direction in ministry

-          A love for God and a desire to be used by Him

-          A love for fellow students and a desire to see them grow in their faith

-          Ability to take direction, listen and learn

-          Openness to working as part of a team

-          A sense of humor J

Reason and Responsibilities:

Youth ministry interns will work under the leadership of the senior and youth ministers. Interns will be considered full, participating members of the youth group staff and will be given specific areas of responsibility and resources to learn from and discuss with mentoring pastor as they seek out their gifts and God’s call in their life.

As staff members, interns are responsible for being a Christ-focused role-model, sounding board, teacher and friend to the other students and encouraging them in their walk with God. Since spiritual growth often takes place in the context of a relationship, it is important that you spend time building the relationships with teammates and other students. Every intern/student leader will be expected to keep a log of activities to review with their mentor at regularly scheduled meetings (in person or video chat) and to maintain regular Bible devotions and personal prayer times to keep themselves focused and plugged in.
